#30daysongchallenge Day 20 Song you listen to when driving

Another tough choice. I actually prefer to listen to Howard Stern when I’m driving. No tomatoes please! I haven’t given the Gin Blossoms any love yet so here is one of my favorites. Very dark but I just love this song and it gets stuck in my head for days.

The last horizons I can see are filled with bars and factories
And in them all we fight to stay awake…
Drink enough of anything to make this world look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
She had nothing left to say so she said she loved me
I stood there grateful for the lie…
Drink enough of anything to make this girl look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
Turn summer trees to bones and ice
Turn insect songs against the night
With words we build and words we break
I’m drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves…
Maybe I could use you to reassure myself
I wouldn’t wish this indecision on anybody else
Drink enough of anything to make this world look new again
And when the sin smiles how could it be wrong
The last horizons I could see are now resigned to memories
I never thought I’d still be here today
Drink enough of anything to make myself look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves.

#30daysongchallenge Day 19 Song you listen to when angry

I actually don’t listen to aggressive music when I’m angry. I prefer something calming. I save aggressive stuff for when I’m in a great mood and can get all pumped up. Yeah, I’m weird. Anyway, I adore Missy Higgins so why not choose one of her songs? This one gives me chills.

#30daysongchallenge Day 19 Song from your favorite album

Um, this is like trying to pick a favorite song. Can’t be done because I have WAY too many favorite albums!! Since I haven’t done a James Taylor song yet, I’m going with his wonderful cover of a Buddy Holly song, “Everyday”. I just love this song!! I’ve seen him in concert a bazillion times and he’s only played it once. Not gonna lie…I flailed.

#30daysongchallenge Day 18 Song you wished you heard on radio

#1 choice would be the entire Analog Heart album.

#2 choice is anything by MWK. Here is One True Thing.

#30Daysongchallenge Day 17 Song you hear on the radio

I’m going with Ryan Star. Sirius Pulse has been giving him a lot of love and I lurve the beat to this song. This song is so fun to see live. Wake up, wake up dreaming…

#30daysongchallenge Song you use to love but now hate are sicking of hearing and just need a damn break

My vote on this one goes to “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. Thanks Glee.

#30daysongchallenge Day 14 Song that describes you

My husband and I always used to joke that this Billy Joel song is about me. Heh, sometimes it’s true.

She’s Always a Woman

She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child,
But she’s always a woman to me

She can lead you to love
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she’ll never believe you
And she’ll take what you give her, as long as it’s free
Yeah, she steals like a thief
But she’s always a woman to me

CHORUS:
Oh—she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She’s ahead of her time
Oh—and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

And she’ll promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she’ll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you’re bleedin’
But she’ll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she’s always a woman to me
—Mhmm—

Bridge

CHORUS:
Oh—she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She’s ahead of her time
Oh—and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

She is frequently kind
And she’s suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She’s nobody’s fool
And she can’t be convicted
She’s earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she’s always a woman to me
—Mhmm—

Honorable Mention: Bitch by Meredith Brooks

I’m a bitch, I’m a lover
I’m a child, I’m a mother
I’m a sinner, I’m a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I’m your hell, I’m your dream
I’m nothing in between
You know you wouldn’t want it any other way

#30daysongchallenge Day 13 Guilty Pleasure

This song gets stuck in my head for days: Cee-lo’s Fuck You

1) He says fuck. A lot. I’m 12 years old that way.

2) It sounds like a catchy, happy-go-lucky Motown love song. But it’s not! Get it?

#30daysongchallenge Day 12 Song from a band you hate don’t particularly care for

Don’t throw tomatoes but I’ve just never really gotten into the Stones. “Hate” is too strong of a word.  I don’t mind them when they are on but I don’t have them on my iPod and wouldn’t purposely play them on my own. I do really like the song “Angie” though.

#30daysongchallenge Day 10 Song by favorite band

Obviously, the choice of my favorite band would have to be David and the guys but I’m saving them for another one. Let’s face it, I could probably pick a song by DC for every damn category so I’m forcing myself to pick other music. My second choice would be MWK’s “Rearview” but alas, this song is not to be found on the Tubey place. :(  (I could pick MWK for a lot of these categories too so I guess I’ll save them for another one too…)

I’ll go with my favorite Bon Jovi song called “Misunderstood”. It is different than their usual sound and I can play it endlessly. They should have won the Grammy when nominated for this one!
